After some interesting singles and visuals (specifically, the Migos-assisted “Peak A Boo” and the nostalgia-themed “Bring It Back“), Atlanta-based artist Lil Yachty finally releases his debut album Teenage Emotions. The 21-track project also features appearances from YG, Kamaiyah, Stefflon Don, Diplo, Evander Griiim and more.
As expected, Teenage Emotions is polarizing at best — you’re either a long-time fan who gets it or a Hip-Hop purist who thinks it’s nothing more than a Summer frisbee. Either way, the QC/Capitol-signed star is expected to sell somewhere between 55 and 60 thousand units (19 to 22 thousand in pure sales), which isn’t half bad for his first album. The question is, is the man they also call Lil Boat nothing more than a novelty act?
Enjoy Teenage Emotions (or not?) below via Apple Music, Spotify and TIDAL. Also included is Yachty’s performance of “Bring It Back” and — wait for it — a recent sit-down alongside Migos, where they discuss the greatest rapper of all time.
