Currently, J Hus is killing the airwaves via his critically-acclaimed new album Common Sense, which was released last week and currently holds the sixth spot on the UK Albums chart. Following “Friendly” and “Did You See,” the Stratford emcee delivers a new visual for the title track.
First off, everything about “Common Sense” is amazing, mainly because it showed just how versatile the self-proclaimed ‘Bouff Daddy’ is — typically known for his catchier, Afrobeat-tinged tracks, his third single features some crazy live instrumentation in the vein of a Diddy, JAY Z or Rick Ross. Add in Hus’ lyrical flair (seriously, he absolutely shuts it down), this album opener could be the greatest heard from the UK this year. The clip simply matches the vibe: Hus flexes in front of a Mercedes truck with his mates, interspersed with scenes of women fighting over money and other symbolic notes of fame and fortune (and hate).
Enjoy “Common Sense” (produced by JAE5, The Compozers and Rudimental‘s Mark Crown) below and — if you haven’t already — pick up J Hus’ debut of the same name here.
