UPDATE: Somehow, an alternate video for “Come Closer” has revealed itself, and it’s absolutely magnificent thanks to the many shades of beauty featured. It’s been added below.
Today sees a new visual from Afrobeats star WizKid for the sultry track “Come Closer,” which features assistance from genre chameleon Drake. The AutoTune-heavy track originally debuted on OVO Sound Radio under the title “Hush Up The Silence”…it also marks the latest collaboration between the two artists since the smash single “One Dance” and “Ojuelegba (Remix)” with Boy Better Know general Skepta.
In the clip, the Nigerian singer surrounds himself with plenty of beautiful women, matched with bright lights and multiple dancing routines. Unfortunately, Drizzy doesn’t make an appearance for his part of the song; nonetheless, the charismatic WizKid and variations of eye candy more than make up for the Canadian artist’s absence.
Enjoy “Come Closer” below and pick up the single via iTunes. Presumably, the self-proclaimed Starboy (who inked a deal with RCA Records/Sony Music International and recently delivered guest features for Wale and Justine Skye) will be following up with a new album soon. In the meantime, you can also check out another new cut titled “Sweet Love” here.
