Toronto is one of the leading music cities in the game right now, birthing a handful of new singers that have a potential to mold the future R&B sound. Toronto’s THE LUST GOD is the latest addition to the list, labeling his unique brand of aesthetic “Sex Trap.”
THE LUST GOD makes his video debut for one of his standout tracks, the Clyad-produced “Something.” On the first listen, you catch the nostalgic 90’s R&B vibe that guys like Avant were known for or even Joe to some extent. As much as the song is smooth, it is still uplifting with just enough swing, adding to its replay value.
As for the self-directed video, it seemingly fits the vibe of the song with a very interesting narrative where you see THE LUST GOD caught up in some type of commotion as he struggles to reach his love interests and collapses by the burning fire. The commotion carries on as two girls paint his face whilst he’s passed out. The scene then cuts to him chilling in a hotel room with a very seductive vibe surrounding him as he sings to his love interest while she tosses and turns under the sheets. Peep the video below.
