Brooklyn’s emerging artist, Booka, is breaking barriers with his latest single, “Girl“.
Booka is a young urban artist that has quickly set the New York entertainment scene on fire, fusing Soul, Boom-bap and Trap. His vocals alternate between swift boasts and smooth hooks. Booka has made steady strides towards the mainstream with aspirations to fuse old school Hip Hop with an element of youthful energy. His mission has always been laser sharp: To make magic in the studio, create inspiring videos and to share his artistry with fans from around the world.
Booka has been rapping since before he could talk. Highly influenced by artists such as Eminem and Big L just as much as legendary rock stars Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix and GG Allin. He is mastering his craft by collaborating skillfully and creating music to share with his expansive fan base. At a young age, he began writing lyrics, progressing to freestyling with his peers in Brooklyn, searching for lyrical inspiration and working to improve his own skills. Having a difficult childhood in the tough neighborhood that so many talented urban artists hail from, he became determined to succeed in the music industry after André 3000’s incredible performance at the 2004 Grammys and then having a personal one on one conversation with Vic Mensa in 2016. Booka utilizes music as a medium for storytelling, usually ascertaining content based on the mood of the beat with which he is working.
Booka continues to develop into a professional artist with his unmistakable voice, personality, delivery and lyricism. He can not be denied as he gains a reputation as a lyrical assassin. His latest release has garnished significant attention from industry leaders and icons such as DJ Funk Master Flex on New York’s Hot 97 FM radio “This is what New York City sounds like!” in late 2016, which thrust Booka into the forefront of his hometown’s music scene. Other music icons to endorse his legendary talent include Kid Capri, Raekwon, Vic Mensa, Ice-T, Jadakiss and Stevie J.
