Currently, Kendrick Lamar is sailing high thanks to the release of his fourth official album DAMN., led by the heart-pounding, Mike WiLL Made-It-produced “HUMBLE.” Today, Kendrick continues his momentum forward with a new Nabil-directed visual for the project’s second track “DNA.”, which sees him in his now-popular Kung Fu Kenny persona.
The clip begins with K-Dot handcuffed and presumably strapped to a lie detector machine alongside a detective-playing Don Cheadle. Things go abstract very quickly, with the two unlikely collaborators going back and forth with the song’s lyrics…not long after, Kendrick makes quick work of his adversary and departs the building. This leads to the second half, which sees Kendrick in full on aggression interspersed with girls joyriding in an Impala SS, his gang-affiliated homies and splices of what looks like Lamar’s real life (fellow TDE artist ScHoolboy Q also makes a pointed cameo for added effect).
Enjoy “DNA.” below and stream/download DAMN. here. In related news, Kung Fu Kenny also made an appearance at this year’s Coachella Festival — he was joined by Q, Future and Travi$ Scott for the historic set.
