West Palm Beach, FL, native, Sir is a dynamic musician that made his way from Florida to Los Angeles, California with talents that have been groomed since age five, as a classically trained pianist and later at Dreyfus School of the Arts. Inspired by classic sounds Sir’s passion for music evolved his production and engineering skills, creating classically composed Hip Hop infused sounds.
Performing as a solo artist, in a group, or with his keytar in a band Sir has further honed in on his talents and shared the stage with notable acts including Chief Keef, emerging Kanye’s label G.O.O.D Music artists, and Chaka Khan. If Sir’s music had a Pandora station he would be streamed with soulful revolutionary artists like OutKast, Nas, Herbie Hankcock, and GhostFace Killa. “S1R” (2014) is the first official album available on all major streaming sites and is being followed with Sir’s 2017 sophomore release later in the year.
The mixtape located at the top of the post is the most recent project by BAPS University, which is Sir’s collective. BAPS has a dope meaning behind it and stands for Bangin Ass Proper Shit. These cats are an elite crew of artists, producers, musicians, poets, vocalists, engineers, as well as activists. Their mission is to use their talents to positively impact the culture and community. Together, they have created the vibe and platforms that elevate and inspire.
At the end of the day we just speak to what’s within. Est. 2012-Present
This project was released earlier this month and was produced , mixed, mastered, and executive produced entirely by Sir. By far, this is one of the illest indie projects I’ve heard come out of Florida. Comprised of slick rhymes, quality production, catchy hooks, chill vibes, and overall, nothing corny, this crew definitely brings something new to the game, and it’s definitely appreciated.
The mixtape is available for free and they anticipate a new release with each season of the year. O.A.F Mixtape Vol. 1 is available for download and streaming at the top of the post via Soundcloud. Next up is Sir’s artist Ambeeka’s project, along with Sage, Incense, and Cannabis. Sir is also geared up to release his forthcoming solo project as well, where the video below, “Understand it“, which features Chief Oragami, is set to appear on.
