Mero is making a statement with his new track and video, “Incarcerated Cream,” which finds the rising Long Island rapper going in over Raekwon classics “Incarcerated Scarfaces” and “Ice Cream.”
To say the kid does the two RZA-produced instrumentals justice would be putting it lightly, because it’s clear from his first bars that he’s been studying the rap greats for a while. Interestingly enough, Mero cites Big L as his biggest influence and favorite artist of all time, and you can definitely hear shades of the late legend echoing throughout the young rapper’s rhymes.
“Incarcerated Cream” is littered with wordplay and rewind-worthy gems, including some ridiculous bars about Cee-Lo (the singer/rapper and the game itself) and his favorite piece of jewelry (his watch). And he does this all while hanging with his family and crew on the steps of his home while acclaimed director Jon Vulpine (Afroman, Bobby V) captures the energy of the track.
You can peep the visual for “Incarcerated Cream” now at the top of the post and feel free to leave us with your thoughts in the comments section. Also, Be on the lookout for news about Mero’s upcoming album, The Feature Presentation, which is set to drop in the coming months.
