Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard Remy Ma‘s scathing diss to Nicki Minaj (“ShETHER“), a 7-minute slaughtering over Nas and Ron Browz‘ iconic instrumental. You’ve also probably heard silence from Nicki, aside from a reminder of albums sold and a WTF back-and-forth with Trey Songz. As a result, much of the Hip-Hop community has gone in on Nicki for seemingly refusing to respond (simply put, you can’t hide behind your success when it comes to real Rap…you gotta bring your bars). Up until yesterday, it seemed as if Remy might have actually earned her crown as the queen emcee…
…and then she released a second track titled “Another One”, which sees her rapping rather lackadaisically over a rip-off of Drake‘s “Back To Back” beat:
In contrast to support over “ShETHER”, much of social media has responded to Remy’s latest pretty negatively, mainly in regards to whether or not Fat Joe‘s protege overdid it on disses (and the opinion that ‘Another One’ simply sucks). The above track also leaves two new questions:
- Did Remy shoot herself in the foot with “Another One”?
- Will Nicki Minaj finally get off her international high horse and respond?
You can see some of those posts below (one of which includes a quickly-deleted Nicki Minaj pic that Remy Ma leaked via her Instagram account). Also included is a recent sit-down between Funkmaster Flex and Fat Joe, who gets pretty candid on the Remy-Nicki beef.
