If there’s one thing that we can take from the swift ascension of the career of Young M.A. and this beef between Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma, is that America is here for a female with bars. Sure, there’s still sexism in Hip-Hop and of course women face their challenges, but I think it’s safe to say that the world has embraced the female emcee, to a certain extent. St. Louis songstress Jackie Mack takes full advantage of our kindness in her aggressive but catchy new visual for her single, “Money“.
Opting for the simple yet, affective video direction, Mack instead chooses to focus on her words. “Take a sip from the cup, then I come alive/ don’t trip on these ni*gas, kick ’em to the side/ start it off slow then I spin it when I ride/ if sh*t pop off, tell ’em meet me outside,” raps the St. Louis native as she kicks off her energetic, ferocious second verse. Couple her natural ability to ride the beat with a velvety flow with her knack for creating melodic hooks, and you have a star in the making.
Peep the short, but sweet video for, “Money” below and be sure to keep an eye out for Mack.
