Houston rapper Emphasiz brings a fresh new sound to the table. There isn’t too much known about the artist other than after joining the Navy, he moved to California and decided to take his passion for music to a new height. His track “Fuck It Up,” caught our attention so we had to check out his Soundcloud. Emphasiz delivers a very based and catchy flow over euphoric yet trappy enough instrumentals that he also co-produced alongside Rudi Reapa & Shmack Beats. The record is easy on the ears but don’t let that fool you. It carries a high level of contagiousness which will have you repeating the song.
When asked about the process, this is what he had to add.
“I wrote this song stemming from conversations I had with a friend whose favorite thing to say when getting lit was ‘Fuck It Up!’ and is also on the cover. Most of the conversations we had were about the future and the next move in music. She always kept my head up, reminding me that things could be worse so that made me want to write about the positive side of a couple of situations I was going through at the time. Between possibly getting kicked out of the military to friends being killed to getting fucked over by promoters I found a way to express my frustration and have fun through it all.”
