Issa Rae announced yesterday on Twitter that the second season of Insecure will be on HBO starting on July 23rd. It has been almost a year and a half since we have seen the season premiere of Insecure. This comedy series explores the life of a everyday black women experience.
Issa Rae created this comedy series because people portray black women as strong and independent. Don’t get me wrong, we are strong, flawless and confident black women but Issa is giving us two distinct real life situations in where we navigate two different worlds and cope with uncomfortable everyday experiences.
The series deals with racism and at home problems that deals with family and friends. If you haven’t seen Insecure season 1, please go watch it. It is something that the black culture needs and the younger generations can relate to.
