Gary, Indiana rap artist Freddie Gibbs is back with some new heat. After being wrongly accused of sexual assault charges last year, he returned to the music scene earlier this month by announce his new project. After announcing his new album, You Only Live 2wice he also revealed the track list, cover art, and gave us an excellent visual for track 3 “Crushed Glass.”
As he prepares to drop his third studio album, Freddie Gibbs premiers track 2 “Alexys” via Dr. Dre’s Beats 1 Radio Show The Pharmacy. Although its not the best sound quality due to the ripped audio from the radio show, you can hear Freddie Gibbs deliver his hard-hitting lyrics over the fine co-production from Montreal, Canada’s Kaytranada and BADBADNOTGOOD.
Just from hearing “Crushed Glass” and “Alexys” the project is already sounding like a classic. You Only Live 2wice is finally dropping March 31 and it is available for pre-order on iTunes. You can stream the ripped form of “Alexys” here.
