Freddie Gibbs Returns with New Visual for "Crushed Glass" [WATCH]

It’s great to see Freddie Gibbs back in his zone musically. Last year, it seemed like the Indiana emcee had bigger problems outside of music — he was being held by French authorities after being accused of drugging and raping a woman in Austria, and was facing 10 years in prison for the claims. Fortunately, he was acquitted a month later, after which he was last seen embracing his beautiful daughter, seemingly set to focus on his family and loved ones for the foreseeable future.

Now, he’s officially back, having announced his new album (or EP?) titled You Only Live 2wice, the official follow-up to 2015’s Shadow Of A Doubt, along with cover artwork (above) that seems to view Gibbs in a Christ-like manor. In addition, fans also get a new visual for the track “Crushed Glass,” which sees production from Speakerbomb, Aaron Bow and Teddy Walton and samples Sade‘s “Fear” (Hip-Hop fans might recognize that sample as the same one Mobb Deep used on the classic Murda Muzik cut “Where Ya Heart At”). As stated via press release, the Eric Nielson-directed clip sees Gibbs traversing through a desert as “he contemplates the recent events that have transpired in his life.”
