It was just last year when Drake’s album Views took over the music charts with his fiery tracks like “Controlla” and “One Dance.” This year, the expectations were even higher for his new album More Life but of course, those expectations have been reached. Even better, they have been surpassed. Drake’s More Life is now No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and it has officially set a new music streaming record.
The album which is Drake’s seventh No. 1 on the famous 200 chart, was just released on March 18 and it has already earned 505,000 equivalent album units in just one week. When billboard reported the first week numbers for the album they wrote, “Of More Life’s starting sum, a record 257,000 units were driven by streaming equivalent album units, equating to 384.8 million streams of songs from the 22-track album during the tracking frame (each unit equals 1,500 streams of songs from the album).” How’s that for more life?
With the albums broad range of genres and features from todays hottest artists like Quavo, Kanye West, and Travis Scott, it’s only right the album sets the bar for todays hip-hop music.
