Silkk The Shocker dropped by this weeks episode of the Scoop B Radio Podcast.
The southern hip hop legend has a fairly large music catalogue. The New Orleans rapper released his debut album, The Shocker, on No Limit Records in 1996.During his career he successfully released two consecutive platinum albums and a gold one. His catalogue boasts hits like: It Ain’t My Fault, Movin’ On, Ghetto Tears, Mama Always Told Me, Thug ‘n’ Me, which folks grew to learn and love in the 90s and the early 2000s.
Silkk spoke on the Scoop B Radio Podcast very candidly about taking time off from the rap game, entrepreneurship and staying business minded over the years.
Silkk The Shocker marketed himself well. In 2004 he was contracted to write theme songs for WWE wrestlers. In 2011, Silkk tried his hand in acting. He appeared in the horror film, Reservation. Silkk The Shocker is making a comeback of sorts. He appeared in the The All I Do Is Win mixtape in 2010, appeared on Dej Loaf’s album and last year dropped an album titled, Incredible. He and No Limit will be honored at the BMI Hip Hop Awards in New Orleans during NBA All Star Weekend.
