Golden Age legend and boom-bap producer extraordinaire, DJ Premier linked up with R&B star Miguel to show off his versatility once again with his latest track “2 LOVIN U.” The buzz surrounding a collab between the two began after Miguel dropped a photo on Instagram showing the two working on new music in the promotion of his 2016 album Wildheart. The project would go on to be nominated for two Grammy’s, but the track recorded by the two during the creation of the project would reach the public in a different form as the track “Damned.”
Now DJ Premier says that the duo is ready to unveil the direction of the original snippet dropped on Instagram last year. “The snippet you heard on Miguel’s Instagram, mine is the original” DJ Premier declared. “Miguel and I were vibing at a session and just really seeing what we could come up with. What we came up with was a dope, but rough version of what you hear today.”
“2 LOVIN U,” is the first release from DJ Premier’s fresh TTT (To The Top) imprint and is available for purchase on iTunes. Give the track a listen below.
