Chicago’s Diverse Marley is back once again with his smooth, relaxing song “It Ain’t Adding Up,” dealing with life’s unanswered questions and the paths he and his people are taking in an attempt to find an answer for these. “Yeah I’m catching flights, yeah I’m booking shows/getting paid, yeah all highs to my lows” he raps, juxtaposing the intensity of touring and recreation.
When asked about the track, Marley said:
“I just wanted to give my core and new fans something to vibe to. My intention with making this song was to create something catchy, speak on my current thoughts and create a record that was easy to relate to.”
A core to his music and creative thinking appears to be very spontaneous actions with the preferred outcome being that same feeling reciprocated by the audience; the ultimate goal is to make you feel good, which is ultimately the most important facet when it gets down to the creative side of the music industry. In Isaiah Rashad‘s words, “it could be the jam.”
