Happy Friday: today sees two new projects from Kehlani and Migos, both of which can be streamed or downloaded below.
Kehlani – SWEETSEXYSAVAGE
It’s been two years since the release of the critically-acclaimed You Should Be Here; today, Bay Area artist Kehlani liberates the mixtape’s follow-up — her official debut album, SWEETSEXYSAVAGE. The 19-track release sees her handling vocal duties completely solo, while utilizing incredibly soulful (and sometimes Pop-esque) production from Pop & Oak, Charlie Heat, Jahaan Sweet, Sevn Thomas, Danny Klein and more. The project also features the previously-released singles “CRZY” and “Distraction”, along with “Gangsta” — Kehlani’s contribution to the Suicide Squad soundtrack — via the Deluxe edition.
Rather surprisingly, the SWV-sampling “Table” (which features London emcee Little Simz) doesn’t appear on SWEETSEXYSAVAGE, nonetheless, it’s sure to be a dope listen throughout.
Migos – CULTURE
Migos! The wavy Atlanta trio who started at the “bando” have continued to surprise doubters of new generation Hip-Hop with hit-after-hit, thanks to trendsetting (T)rap styles and production (to the point of over saturation, debatably). Now, we get to check out the group’s second official album via 300 Entertainment, titled CULTURE…the 13-track offering sees appearances from the likes of 2 Chainz, DJ Khaled (who starts off the album right, to be fair), Travi$ Scott and Gucci Mane. In addition, CULTURE also contains the smash hit “Bad & Boujee” (which features polarizing Philly artist Lil Uzi Vert) and the more recent single “T-Shirt“. Expect this one to rule the airwaves and dancefloors as we get closer to warmer weather.
Production on CULTURE comes courtesy of DJ Dahi, Nard & B, Metro Boomin, Cardo, Zaytoven, Mike Dean and more.
