With all of the talk about immigration, politics and making America Great Again, The Escape Artists Collective curated a multimedia art show inspired by the 2016 Presidential election.
On Tuesday January 17, 2017, Manhattan was the place to be! El Barrio’s ArtSpace PS109 housed an interactive exhibition to find resolutions to perpetuate peace and find proactive ways of getting involved in our government.
Over 200 guests were on hand opening night. While there, folks were able to use art as a way of engagement, expression and connectivity to spark a movement. The exhibition was a proactive response to the ideologies and policies being proposed by the Trump Administration which has some questioning: “what is unity and how do we want to achieve it?”
Featured art mediums included mixed media, filmmaking, graphic design, painting, woodburning, photography, music and a live interactive activation. The event featuried artists like J.T.Liss, Teeny Love, Atikur Abdul, William BI Sloan, D’mon Borkel, Jose Aurelio, Eric Fernandez, Jazmine Hayes, ConsumerArt, James Polanco, Pulse of the UK, The Virgin Artiste, music curator & performer Ashley T, photographers Angie LMV & Vaughn Boogie Browne.
