Wale drops an impressive freestyle where he bodies the DJ Premier beat used for the classic “Nas Like” freestyle. The impactful DC rapper shows off his monumental lyricism through his new track “Folarin Like” that fires back to the criticism that he has received within the past recent years. After releasing the response track “Groundhogs Day”– a response to J. Cole’s words in his newest hit “False Prophets”, the artist intensely raps his thoughts on his career, personal life, and feelings towards his listeners. In the track Wale raps, “It hurts me to hurt you. It burns, yeah it burns because I birthed you ni**a. Yeah of course you ni**as forgot but every time I drop a single ni**as hittin’ me up telling me to give them a jump”. Wale uses his frustration towards the industry and the public to remind people of the multiple influences he has made within music and other artists. Although most people took J. Cole’s lyrics in “False Prophets” as a diss it seems as if the Dreamville rapper ignited the passionate and competitive MC in Wale.
