We’re now knee-deep into the Fall season, but our memories of Summer ’16 are truly alive and well, with many of us itching to relive the highlights.
St. Louis songwriter Jaylien is no different, as his new video for “Summer’s Over” echoes the cries of those mourning the impending loss the season and everything it had to offer. Director Ronald Reid emphasizes Jaylien’s urgency to hang on to his new found beau before the bewitching season’s end via bright city lights and hazy camera shots, as the R&B crooner pulls in inspiration from his recent trip to NYFW, creating a sleek visual with voguish delivery.
Jaylien’s honeyed vocals direct one burning question to his stunning love interest, “Whatchu gon’ do now that the summer’s over?’, Though she appears to be more focused on memorializing their tender moments on her Smartphone. Whether or not they end up together is left to the viewer’s imagination as Jaylien never receives a direct answer to his query. Check the full video out below.
The track is the title track from Jaylien’s 7-track EP, released back in July. You can purchase the EP by clicking here.
