By now, the hip-hop community (or any community, period) has seen a version of or taken part in the #MannequinChallenge, which sees a group of people posing completely still in various environments…debatably, Rae Sremmurd and 2 Chainz are the current kings with their versions, done on stage in front of a packed crowd and as part of a shopping-themed music visual, respectively. In addition, Rae Sremmurd’s SremmLife 2 track “Black Beatles” has seen a surge in plays as a result of the trend.
This week, Young Thug decided to attempt his own version of the challenge (which also features right-hand man YSL Duke and producer TM88) while boarding a private jet…
…the bad news is that the clip is unintentionally hilarious, thanks to people moving ever-so-slighty (one guy couldn’t even stop blinking); the good news is that Thugger used the challenge to tease a new collaboration with Atlanta peer, 21 Savage, who has been making some serious waves since the release of the Metro Boomin-assisted project Savage Mode. Presumably, this track will appear on Young Thug’s final release of the year, which — in a recent interview with V Magazine — he stated will be “ten times harder than JEFFERY.”
Hopefully, more information on the currently-unnamed song will be revealed soon. In related news, Thug and 21 Savage will be hitting the road to begin their HIHORSE’D tour this week; you can see those dates below.
