XXL Mag confirms that fans will be refunded by Ticketmaster after Kanye West performs in Sacramento on November 19.
The reason for the refund that is going to happen is the fact that, after playing about 3 songs, West then went on a long rant before announcing that the show was over and dropping his microphone. The content about the rant was about Beyoncé and husband Jay Z, claiming that Beyoncé only received Video of the Year for “Formation” because she refused to perform for the MTV Video Music Awards show otherwise. This rant, after showing up an hour late and only playing a few songs according to Fox40, prompted angry fans from the show to chant “F*** you Kanye”. Fans of Beyoncé took to social media with hashtags such as #KanyeIsOverParty to show their own displeasure.
Ticketmaster and Live Nation have already begun to offer refunds to the show, with StubHub saying that they will “most likely” do the same. StubHub will in the meantime be emailing their users with more information until the decision is made.
Hopefully, West will be able to make a comeback amongst his fans, but until he does, there may be more refunds being demanded in the future.
