The band Starset, the space themed metal group, has released their new song “Monster,” the first new song by them to have been released since their 2014 debut album Transmissions.
Starset’s first album had the theme of astronautsfrom the future lost in space, sending messages to the past. With only “Monster” being released, it is exciting to see how their theme will be continued or expanded upon. The song will be included in Starset’s new album Vessels, which will be released January 20, 2017. Whether the band will keep some form of their original theme will be seen as the music video for the single should be released in the coming weeks. The new album will likely be a part of the deal the band has with Marvel for a comic book that their albums will be soundtracks to. The graphic novel is currently set to be released in the fall of 2017.
Vessels is produced by Rob Graves and mixed by Ben Grosse, and will reportedly further push the boundaries of the band’s sound. The band will also start to resume their “demonstrations” on the road in 2017 with a schedule for the tour dates to be released at a later date.
