RESPECT. Premiere: Eve Minor "OMG"

California-to-New York rising star Eve Minor certainly has no problem saying how she feels on a record. Case in point: today, we get to check out her new single titled “OMG,” a genre-bending track that sees inspiration from Danny Brown, Nine Inch Nails, Beastie Boys and Future. In addition, ‘OMG’ includes references to TLC‘s “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg” and R&B/Funk great Rick James, who Minor says is her “spirit animal.” It’s easy to see the latter’s influence, with direct lines like this:

Oh my, oh my, oh my god
murder on my p***y, R.I.P., catch a charge…

Papa got that p***y on deck
drip, drip, drip, the whole bedsheet’s wet
I ain’t too proud to beg…

The hook definitely sets the tone for the raunchy and sensual verses within, performing in a melodic, hazy style somewhat reminiscent of Trent Reznor. It’s also a stark contrast from the bubblegum Pop-esque September release “Piggy Bank” which shows Minor’s versatility in regards to her sound.

“OMG” is taken from Eve Minor’s forthcoming mixtape Zombies, which is released sometime next month; that will then be followed by the album Shooting Stars, which said to appear sometime next February.
