*turns on Rae Sremmurd‘s “Black Beatles” anywhere you go*
“THAT GIRL IS A REAL CROWD PLEASER!”
Earlier this year in August, Rae Sremmurd released their second effort to their debut album, SremmLife simply titled Sremmlife 2.
While their first album saw platinum plaque success with singles such as “This Could Be Us,” “Throw Sum Mo,” and “Come Get Her,” the dynamic duo of Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi gear up for another career milestone— their first number one single.
The Internet craze #MannequinChallenge is definitely leading them towards that direction. Several musicians, athletes, and entertainers have posted their own version of the viral craze. For example, famous frontman of The Beatles Sir Paul McCartney recently co-signed ‘Black Beatles’ when he did the #MannequinChallenge a few days prior.
For what it’s worth, reaching a number one single in the digital age of music requires more difficult criteria. The Recording Industry Association of America — the RIIA for short — reflects streaming music growth with the Digital Single Award. For each streamed song, the ratio value must have 150 streams and one download equally.
According to Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart, “Black Beatles” ranks Rae Sremmurd at the No. 9 spot. for the week ending Nov. 19. With the leverage of their active social media presence and a new #MannequinChallenge popping up daily, no doubt the group will reach the No. 1 spot in no time!
