Solange’s September 30 release A Seat At The Table has earned the songbird her first No.1 album on the Billboard 200 charts.
As reported by Billboard, the singer’s third studio album opened with 72,000 equivalent album units sold in the week ending Oct. 6.
Additionally, traditional album units account for 46,000 of these sales while 24,000 come from streaming equivalent units and 3,000 in track equivalent album units.
The songstress’ album beat out Wisconsin band Bon Iver’s project 22, A Million, which came in at the second position with 71,000 equivalent album units earned.
Also, the project was released by Solange’s Saint Records through Columbia Records and will be released in physical CD format November 18.
Also, with the star’s No.1 debut and sister Beyonce’s previous chart topping sets, the duo joins Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson and Master P and Silk the Shocker as pairs of solo siblings to have scored top albums on the Billboard 200.
