QUIÑ Drops the Trance-Inducing "I AM"

QUIÑ‘s bold proclamation of self manifests itself in a trance inducing track, redolent of neo-soul sounds with its own trend of reinvention. “I AM” premiered via Okayplayer and is the latest of “Fantasy Soul” sounds that the LA singer-songwriter put out onto the table.

Not too long ago, FADER helped foster attention for QUIÑ by releasing her visually audacious film GALACTICAT, which acts as her introduction to new listeners, and insight into what she’s doing different from the norm. The echoes of an experimental FKA twigs are very present in her eerie visuals, and it’s easy to see, sonically, the subtle inspirations from neo-soul artists like Erykah Badu– also known for her otherworldly persona- and Sade. Previously, she released a track with G-Eazy called “Over Again,” which follows the same ethereal song structure which is slowly becoming her trademark sound.
