The news that Twitter would be shutting down Vine in “coming months” was a shot heard around the (social media) world.
Well, not if Pornhub has a say.
In a letter written to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and shared by CNET, Pornhub VP Corey Price expressed interest in buying out the now defunct app.
In the letter Price says “We figure since Twitter has dropped (Vine) and is having significant layoffs, that you and your stakeholders could benefit from a cash infusion from the sale of Vine. Not to mention we would be saving Vine gems like ‘Damn Daniel,’ ‘Awkward Puppets’ and many more.”
Price promises to “restore Vine to its NSFW glory,” while adding that six seconds of video is more than enough for people to enjoy themselves.
Since the video sharing app does not have the same strict community guidelines that Facebook and Instagram have, it has been easy for adult stars to promote their work through the app.
Whether or not Twitter will accept the offer has yet to be announced. However, another solution to Vine’s demise has been suggested. On Friday, Giphy, the video and photo database, announced an alternative way for Viners to save their videos by transferring their existing Vines to their Giphy accounts.
