Nipsey Hussle has lead one of the most consistent album campaigns that began in April with his Marathon Mondays series. He has vowed to bring his fans new music or visuals every week since until the release of his debut studio album Victory Lap set to release before the end of 2016. After taking a pause for the first time with no new music or videos being posted last week, Nipsey continues this week’s pace with “County Jail.” Produced by Resource and Marathon Monday runners Mike & Keys, “County Jail” opens up the pages in Nipsey Hussle’s earlier years with a brief track under two minutes.
Writing down my plans hoping I don’t hit the pen
Drop a thousand on my books and trust me I’ll be back again
S**t ain’t looking good, still I keep the faith
Sitting in this county jail tryna fight my case
Running through these fades, I just miss my daughter faceThey bring me out my cell sixty minutes everyday
Back and forth to court, bank on n****s in these tanks
Laughin with my homies bout them days that we were raised
You only down the street but seem so far away
As I’m sitting in this county jail tryna fight my case
As October comes to a close, we expect Nipsey to continue to deliver a last run of material in preparation for the final laps in his Marathon series. Check out “County Jail” on Soundcloud below and let us know what you think.
