According to Kanye West, the sequel to his and Jay Z’s “Watch the Throne” album will never come into fruition due to an ongoing beef between music streaming giants Apple Music and Tidal.
Kanye West and his longtime friend and collaborator Jay Z have made memorable music over the years.
Whether ‘Ye produced the beat, sang the hook, or contributed overall to Jay’s albums— the two were unstoppable in the rap game and beyond.
Back in 2011, the duo formed Watch the Throne and brought the world their first collaborative album under their group name.
Fans have patiently (yet anxiously) waited for years as rumors have swirled regarding an anticipated Watch the Throne sequel.
According to ‘Ye himself, the album will not only be recorded anytime soon— their album will be shelved indefinitely.
Reasons for WTT2 indefinite hold include Jay not appearing on the album version of Drake‘s “Pop Style” plus the ongoing Tidal/Apple Music beef West has spoken out on in the past on numerous occasions. West also said Jay isn’t on the album version out of respect for Meek Mill, a signee to Roc Nation.
