Things got real awkward (pun intended) on this week’s episode of ‘The Flash’. Ashley Rickards star of MTV’s ‘Awkward’ starred as Top aka Rosalind Dillion, a meta-human who has the ability to give her victims paralyzing vertigo. Top and Mirror Master are a Bonnie and Clyde like duo and two of Central City’s new rogues.
“New Rogues” also briefly brought back a fan favorite Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold. The first part of this episode takes place the night of the particle accelerator explosion to show us how Top and Mirror Master got their powers. “New Rogues” then jumps back to the present where Jesse and Barry are training.
Then the awkwardness really began for our couples. Joe walks in on Barry and Iris kissing. Jesse and Wally kiss, start a relationship and the end it just as quickly as Wally is afraid Jesse will go back to her earth and leave him broken hearted. Totally understandable. Luckily for Jesse, later on in “New Rogues” Wally admits his fear of Jesse leaving and makes a move. Will these two last? Would they try a long distance relationship between earths?
Even Joe and Cecile had some sparks flying between them. However, Joe is just as awkward as Barry when it comes to love.
Mirror Master also helps out his love by rescuing her from prison. After the escape we learn more about his abilities and how he is able to go through mirrors. He creates worm holes to get through reflective objects.
Back at Star Labs Harry and crew send out a cryptic message to recruit a Wells doppelgänger for the team. Cisco opens a breach and sends the message out to the multiverse. We then get to see the other Harry’s, some of them otherworldly, and find a winner on earth 19. A Wells with a sense of humor.
While this is going on Barry and Jesse set out to capture Top and Mirror Master. Jesse doesn’t adhere to Barry’s warning in training about casing her surroundings and doesn’t listen when he tells her to stay put. This unfortunately puts her in a really dangerous situation when Top and Jesse meet face to face. Top gives her a bad case of vertigo and she starts falling off the building. Barry comes to her rescue and is then thrown into a mirror by Mirror Master.
Back at Star Labs the team is trying to find something cold enough to slow down the molecules and get Barry out. The man-made machine is unsuccessful but Caitlin secretly uses her powers to help Barry break free.
Later in “New Rogues” Captain Cold teams up with Barry to help capture Mirror Master. Haha well a hologram of Snart. It had me fooled for just a minute and that was all Barry needed in order to capture Mirror Master. Barry leads him to a circle of mirrors which create an infinite reflective loop that Mirror Master can’t escape from.
While Barry handled Mirror Master, Jesse took on Top once again. This time she learned how to deflect the vertigo and in return sent Top for a spin.
After the new rogues are captured Wells lets Cisco know that the molecular device wasn’t working and that someone else let Barry out. Will they finally catch on to Caitlin’s abilities or will she accidentally use them and potentially get someone hurt? She can’t control them for too long. The girl literally froze her shower and gained a platinum blonde streak!
In the final scene of “New Rogues” Barry decides to move out in hopes of eliminating the awkwardness between himself, Iris and Joe. No more walking in on them making out.
Next Week:
New Wells aka HR is super sketchy. Cisco doesn’t trust him and snoops through his stuff.
