Can we call Bill Belichick be the best NFL coach of all time? It is very possible considering what the New England Patriots accomplished last week. The Patriots annihilated the Houston Texans 27-0. Not only did they beat them by double digits, the organization started their third string quarterback Jacoby Brisset. Considering that the Patriots have been subjected to major injuries and suspensions, it’s surprising to the league that the start to their season results in a 3-0 record. The Patriots have been relevant for a long time in the league. This performance seems to justify his greatness as a coach.
The New England Patriots were subject to a list of unfortunate events. Originally, Tom Brady was given a four game suspension and their backup quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a shoulder injury. To fill in his shoes, Brisset was placed in the starting quarterback position last week. He put up a great NFL debut with 195 yards, completed 60.7% of his passes, and ran for 27-yards for his first NFL touchdown. Unfortunately to the New England football team, Brisset suffered a thumb injury and is questionable for next week’s game against the Buffalo Bills. If he does not start for the franchise, the next man on deck is not a pure quarterback. The starting wide receiver, Julian Edlemen will start if Brisset is unable to.
Belichick reminded the league that he is one of the most influential and best coaches in the NFL. He has a great system that works with practically anyone throwing the football at the quarterback position. Being a faithful New York Giants fan, it hurts to say that he is indeed the best coach in the NFL.
