A$AP Rocky and MTV made the announcement of a partnership the last month through his own creative company AWGE. Rocky will have access to the company’s cross-platform production capabilities to create original content; experiment with new formats and existing MTV IP; and develop branded content for advertisers in partnership with Viacom Velocity.
A$AP Rocky inked a revolutionary two-year deal with MTV, reportedly as the Creative Director for MTV Labs, developing new programming and “additional MTV intellectual property,” including new advertising content and more. “I think we need to get people more in tune with vignettes, video clips,” ASAP Rocky told Variety of the collaboration. “That’s really going to be my strong suit.”
“It’s time to start exploring the minds of the young, the kids that come from backgrounds like me,” he added, pointing out that 15-to-30-second videos are crucial to capturing the attention of young people. “If you put your mind to it, you can come up with some unorthodox methods to figure this shit out.” Check out the MTV visual below.
