If you are a fan of the NFL, we should all be accustomed to witnessing nothing shy of greatness from the Green Bay Packer’s star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. However, this season has been bellow mediocre and filled with struggles for number 12. Even though the Packers record is satisfactory winning four games and losing two, looking at the teams and defenses they played, we expect more from Rodgers. Bellow is a list of the teams that the Packers played in the NFL and their defensive rankings.
1.) Jacksonville Jaguars (4th)
2.) Minnesota Vikings (2nd)
3.) Detroit Lions (25th)
4.) New York Giants (20th)
5.) Dallas Cowboys (17th)
6.) Chicago Bears (30th)
Besides the surprisingly fantastic defensive play from Jacksonville and Minnesota, the Packers have played relatively bad defenses. So far in the 2016-2017 NFL season, Aaron Rodgers threw 13 touchdowns in six games. Even though Rodgers is producing legitimate numbers in terms of touchdowns, he is having major issues protecting the football. In six games, he threw four interceptions and fumbled the ball three times. Over the years, we loved Aaron Rodgers play not only because he could score efficiently, but also because he was able to keep the ball in the Packer’s hands.
It remains a mystery why Rodgers is not playing well for the Packers. His offensive line gives him a lot of time to throw the football every snap. NFL analysts have concluded that the fault of the Packers not performing as well as usual falls on his shoulders. They declare that most of his passes are off target to his receivers. Could this mean that we are witnessing the decline of Aaron Rodgers? Could the team simply be struggling to make ends meet? While they still hold onto their 4-2 record and are 2nd in the NFC North, we will watch the Green Bay Packers closely.
