British R&B singer Sampha, who is best known for working with both Drake and Kanye West, is releasing his long-awaited debut under his own name, starting with the video for “Blood on Me.”
The tense Alex Lill-directed video beautifully plays on the paranoid nature of the lyrics. During the first three minutes of the video for the second single from his debut LP, Process, Sampha runs in a large field of wheat and with wild dogs at a racetrack in his trademark yellow hoodie.
“Blood On Me” marks Sampha’s first official solo video since beginning his career as the go-to songwriter. In addition to his remarkable songwriting ability, Sampha also produced tracks for Drake (“Too Much”), Kanye West (“Saint Pablo”), FKA twigs (“Numbers”) and Jessie Ware (“Valentine”), as well as made an appearance on Frank Ocean‘s Endless.
For those wanting to catch Sampha live in concert, he returns to North America in October for a mini tour, check below for select dates.
