Taboo stars Tom Hardy as James Keziah Delaney and is executive-produced by Ridley Scott and Steven Knight. The eight episode mini-series is directed by Kristoffer Nyholm and will air sometime in 2017 on BBC One in the UK and the FX Network in America.
Taboo features the story of James Keziah Delaney who returns to 1814 London after 10 years in Africa to discover that he has been left a mysterious legacy by his father. Driven to wage war on those who have wronged him, Delaney finds himself in a face-off against the East India Company, whilst playing a dangerous game between two warring nations, Britain and America.
The mini-series was created by Tom Hardy and his father Edward “Chips” Hardy. Taboo also stars Leo Bill, Oona Chaplin (granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin), Jonathan Pryce, Michael Kelly and making his debut as an actor, ex-rugby player Danny Ligairi.
Taboo marks the second Scott Free project that stars Tom Hardy. The first was Child 44.
