It’s very difficult to gauge when change will happen, especially during trying times. At this time, all we see flash across our news screens are the terrible things happening in our communities. And all we can wonder is, “How can we make a change?” Rapper, Mac Irv, wants to know the same thing and he isn’t afraid to speak about it on his newest track, “Change.”
Formerly a basketball player at University of Minnesota, Mac Irv (Lawrence McKenzie) traded in his basketball for a mic and he’s really making a difference. Mac has opened up for Prof on tour and has an ever-growing relationship with Rhymesayers. He is due to drop his EP, Misfit 55411 in November. Definitely putting in that work! Which should tell you that his new track, “Change,” is one you should listen to. Here is what Mac had to say about the track:
“Change is a record that speaks to the state of turmoil within urban communities. Everyday we have to worry about being targeted by not only our own people but also the people who are supposed to protect us. We need to change the way we view each other and stop the cycle of death and dishonesty. My heart goes out to Terence Crutcher and all the families that have been affected by ignorance.”
