The visual for “Not Nice” features PARTYNEXTDOOR and his entourage floating about the desert on 4×4’s and lounging on seats. The shots are almost psychedelic and hypnotizing in a way; some points in the video feature double-vision effects, making the film appear as if looking through an inebriated party goer’s eyes (which was most likely intentional). The tune speaks to the very tantalizing reggae sound that has been bouncing around the mainstream hip-hop/R&B sounds recently, with more and more artists hopping on the trend. Of course, for PARTYNEXTDOOR, it comes as no surprise, since he has roots in Jamaica.
“Not Nice” was the second single off P3, PND’s latest record and the followup to the acclaimed PNDColours, which furthered his sound as one of contemporary alternative R&B’s major forces in the mainstream. You can cop the album here and stay on the lookout for more visuals from the Canadian OVO signee.
