Lil Wayne adds another accusation to fuel his feud with Birdman, the boss of Cash Money Records. Wayne accuses Birdman of taking most of $100 million advance that had been given from a distribution deal with Universal Music Group.
The feud with Birdman, going on since 2014, included Wayne saying that he felt “trapped” and hopeless in his label situation, according to Complex, even to the extent of him wanting to quit rapping. The accusations against Cash Money’s greed continue to mount now after Birdman apparently spent $70 million of the $100 million advance given in a deal to Cash Money and Young Money, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ. Wayne now wants the information on how that money was spent in order to add it to the documents already handed over for the $51 million lawsuit that he filed in January 2015 against Cash Money Records. Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J. Prince has backed up Wayne’s claims, and says that he knows how to get the money back. This is only days after Wayne announced he will not allow his album The Carter V to be released by Birdman and Cash Money.
