If there’s one thing we can be sure of, it’s that Kanye West is always sure of himself. Kanye is known for being provocative, and spouting his declarations with confidence. However, Kanye changed his tune, saying that “Kid Cudi is my brother” just days after calling him out.
Kanye’s usual source of free-form controversy, Twitter, is where this story began. Last week Kid Cudi took to Twitter to declare: “My tweets apply to who they apply. ‘Ye, Drake, whoever. These n*ggas dont give a f*ck about me. And they aint f*ckin with me.”
After the years of collaborating and helping Cudi with his career, Kanye was livid. Yeezy responded at his Tampa show, saying “Don’t never mention ’Ye name. I birthed you.”
On Tuesday night in Houston, Kanye put his anger aside in an un-characteristically forgiving manner. Ye surprised us all by preaching his admiration for Cudi:
“I just wanted to take time out to say Kid Cudi is my brother,” he said, calling him “the most influential artist of the past 10 years, and I hope he’s doing well.”
Kanye offering an olive branch? We bet Kid Cudi didn’t see that one coming.
