DJ Infamous recently put in work for ColleGrove, the 2 Chainz and Lil’ Wayne collaboration project released in early March. For his next trick, the award winning DJ gathered together Yo Gotti, Jeezy, who recently donated book bags to Atlanta youth in need, and Ludacris for a song celebrating success and reflecting on the privileges that come with having access to large sums of money.
“I say I want that paper, need that paper
Hustling in my veins, I just bleed that paper”
Ludacris then swoops in proclaiming “Whoever said money is root of all evil never had none,” suggesting that the golden life portrayed by those with money is just as good as it’s perceived to be. Continuing the trend of talking about those looking down on them, Yo Gotti comes in saying:
“See first you get the money then you get the haters
Don’t let that s**t distract you gotta be focused on your paper”
The theme of the song is very heavily influenced by not only obtaining success and wealth, but maintaining it as well; something all of these artists have been successful in doing over the course of their careers.
Infamous definitely won’t slow down anytime soon- this surely won’t be the last release he does featuring more top level emcee’s with repertoires as expansive as these. You can follow Infamous on Twitter here, and be on the lookout for more projects in the future.
