New York sensation Desiigner has been in entertainment media due to his familiar, yet innovative style of rapping; echoes of Future are very present, yet the distinction between the two is a very clear, drawn out line. From “Panda” to “Tiimmy Turner,” he’s been a name stuck in the mouths of the hip-hop audience for a while now.
Most recently, his name’s also on the tongues of law enforcement. Last night, Desiigner was involved in a road altercation which resulted in the police being phoned. TMZ reports that in a fit of road rage, the driver of an SUV and another vehicle exchanged a war of words that ended up in a passenger in the SUV pulling out a gun. The two cars separated, but the SUV’s license plate number was taken.
Later on, cops found the SUV along with a surplus of pills, including that of Oxycontin. Desiigner, as well as the other passengers in the SUV, were charged with drugs charges, including the intent to sell, as well as weapon charges.
It’s reported that the people in the SUV are still in police custody. Hopefully things turn out for the better- in another highly publicized police effort, Bobby Shmurda and his companions are still locked up for very similar crimes. The similarities of the two, being that both rose up and garnered fame with two breakout hits, are copious in amount.
