Nashville native Dee Goodz strikes again with another single off his new project Never Enough. As with “How to Make a Million,” “Flossin'” takes a bird’s eye perspective on the living condition of Dee and his companions. The similarities between the two songs fall under the same umbrella; despite the lifestyle they have, it still isn’t enough. The real question is: Will it ever be?
This time around, Dee Goodz and Reese LaFlare team up with Atlanta native KEY!, who’s notably been featured on Father‘s “Look at Wrist,” and Raury‘s “Trap Tears.” Together, the three make the trap beat sing as they embolden the instrumentation about their lives. Speaking of which, the production, done marvelously by Matic Lee, has an extremely ominous tone to it- the base lines greeting the constant ringing in the background is smooth yet destructive, which acts as a very great way to further breathe life into this track.
The Hundreds‘ premiere features an interview with Dee, where he talks about the dark atmosphere involved in making the project. “I’m paying my dues. The grind never stops. That’s what Never Enough means. I put the wreath on there, because that represents the never-ending cycle.”
You can expect Never Enough to drop very soon. In the meantime, delve into Dee’s SoundCloud and Twitter to keep up with him.
