If you watch the NFL, you should be aware that the Dallas Cowboys were placed in a dilemma during the off season. With their original starting quarterback Tony Romo suffering a back injury, the organization was in desperate need to fill this position. As a result, they drafted Dak Prescott out of Mississippi State. With Tony Romo going down and the upbringing of Prescott, people question if they will ever see Tony Romo play another year as the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. In fear of future injury to the already undermined quarterback, it’s easy to see why someone would say that this is the last of Romo.
With the Dallas Cowboys losing against the New York Giants 20-19 on opening day, Dak Prescott played a legitimate game. Even though he did not score a touchdown, he didn’t throw a single interception. At the same time, he was putting the team in legitimate positions to score field goals. Unfortunately for Cowboy’s fans, they did not score enough to win the game, and lost by a single point.
It is very possible that the emergence of Prescott can put an end to Tony Romo’s career in Dallas. The Cowboy’s have not seen much success in terms of Super Bowl championships with Romo and are looking to experiment with Prescott. In fact, starting Tony Romo would hinder the development of Prescott into being the future of the franchise. Against a team with the skill level of the New York Giants, not scoring a touchdown can still lead to a victory. However, in order for the new quarterback to succeed, he must throw touchdowns. I sincerely believe Prescott can be the new franchise quarterback. However, in order to have one door open, the previous one has to close. Sorry Tony Romo.
