Late last night, Young Thug and his entourage experienced a less than ideal situation with Pittsburgh police under the suspicion of an illegal firearm, shortly after Thug’s Summer Jam Festival Performance, just outside the Southside Event Center.
While hanging out next too their Mercedes-Benz sprinter van, Security personnel for the event noticed one of Thug’s crew members was in possession of a firearm. Shortly after altering local police near the venue, the situation quickly turned into a heated affair, with officers in full uniform, street clothes and full S.W.A.T. gear, collectively rushing the garage (watch video below). Upon watching the video, several officers can be heard yelling at bystanders to../ put their hands up, including the individual recording the video, who could only document for so long before being told to do the same.
TMZ reports that a source close to Thugger says his squad did in fact have a total of 4 guns, however, each individual did indeed have legitimate licences to carry such weapons. Upon being confronted with the tense situation, the papers were presented to the officers and no chargers or arrests were made following the initial incident.
Regardless of this unfortunate misunderstanding with local law enforcement, Thug’s set at the Summer Jam Festival was a success. With this incident now behind him, fans remain hopeful that Young Thug’s new mixtape, Jeffery, will soon be released.
