The internet has been both a blessing and a curse to Hip-Hop. With the advancement in recording technology resulting in millions of new bedroom artists, the genre has seen a spike in participants since the web boom. This saturation has lead to plenty of duds, but it has also created a lane for artists to be original with their sounds. Oakland native WiseProof fits into this category with his psychedelic new single, “Scuse Me“.
Combining clever wordplay with experimental production, “Scuse Me” is a sonic journey through many different worlds. WiseProof repeatedly switches hats seamlessly, going from wordsmith to musician with his wavy synths and head banging “Dub Hop” style which is definitely different from anything you’ve heard recently.
