THA CAPITAL G is a Haitian-American recording artist from Boston, MA. As a toddler, he’d repeatedly take the house phone off the hook and wait for the busy signal just so he could dance to it. Music was always his way of life. G grew up listening to 90’s Hip-Hop but he credits Disney’s 1996 animated film “A Goofy Movie” for inspiring him to become a solo artist.
At UMass Amherst, where he played football alongside New York Giants’ wide receiver Victor Cruz, he spent all his free time in his dorm making beats & writing raps. He flipped Jay Z’s “Empire State of Mind” to make “Amherst State of Mind.” The song was downloaded over 10,000 times, received over 75,000 views on YouTube, and G ended up performing the song at the school’s arena in front of thousands.
He released his first full length, self-produced album, “GarageBand Project” on November 26th, 2013. G is now based in Los Angeles. He’s currently working on an EP with producer Rami Beatz. “Ernest Baker” is the first song created from the upcoming “Giddy” EP.
Check out the video for “Ernest Baker” here and be on the look out for the Giddy EP, coming soon.
