In music, especially Hip-Hop, singers are usually a dime a dozen. Very rarely do vocalists standout in the world of musicians and “rappers” — yes quotation marks were needed. The ones that do stick out, though, are the ones who write their own lyrics that are accompanied by a broad range of melody. Bitter’s Kiss frontwoman Chloe Baker fits into that category, as proven on their new EP, Love Won’t Make You Cry.
Comprised of Chloe and Michael Baker, who does all of the instrumentation, Bitter’s Kiss is an indie experimental group with an original flavor. Comprised of 8 tracks, Love Won’t Make You Cry is a groovy journey of the mind that includes 80’s sounding synths and raspy vocals. Standout tracks from the EP are; “The Rope“, “Love Won’t Make You Cry” and “No One Will” which all feature their signature sound.
